John's first exhibitions were with
the local art group in Wem. That then progressed into having paintings entered
into exhibitions in Shrewsbury with the Shropshire Art Society. One thing
followed another and before he knew it he was holding exhibitions in various
parts of the country. Various art galleries throughout England and Wales
promoted John's work and to them he will remain forever thankful.
By the late 1970s John was painting for a living
and also teaching watercolour Painting for evening classes held by the
Shropshire Adult Education Service. This led to him giving painting
demonstrations for various groups including the Women's Institute. It is his
love of watercolour as a medium that drives him on.
During the 1980s John was painting two or three
pictures a week, he painted every day and enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately
he began to suffer ill health in the late 1980s and because of this he found
painting to be quite difficult. I am now extremely pleased to be able to
offer for sale fine art giclée prints of any of John's
paintings. Although he does very little these days he does have the last word
on colour correction in the final proof which means that the customer gets an
absolutely stunning reproduction of the original paintig. He now looks on
the internet as the means for him to share his work with the public.
He does hope you enjoy your visit and return on
another day. I would also like to ask you to please give him your
opinions and your
comments to help him decide what content
he needs to add and whether he needs to change something. You can do this by
completing his Feedback form.
